Flash Decompiler Trillix Interface

Files opened with Trillix

Flash Decompiler Trillix is a program that allows extracting objects from SWF files, viewing their scripts, and editing SWF files. A free version of the program is available, however, it doesn't have all the features of the primium version.

Opening TrillixEdit

After the installation, open Trillix. A message that says the limitations in the demo version would appear. Click the button that says "Continue demo".

On the right you should see a list that contains the selected SWF files (below the title "My tasks"). By default there are several files that are advertisements. You can get rid of them by right clicking one of them and selecting "Remove all".

In order to load a file, Click the "Open Flash file" button on the upper left. Then select a file from your computer. It would then appear on the list on the left.
In order to view its sources, press the "+" sign on its left. Then a sub-list would appear below it:

  • Images
  • Shapes
  • Morph
  • Fonts
  • Texts
  • Sounds
  • Videos
  • Buttons
  • Sprites
  • Frames
  • Scripts
  • Binary

This lists contains types of objects that are part of the files. In case files from a certain type are found in the file, a "+" sign would appear on the left of the matching title for that type. By pressing it, a list of all items from that type would appear.
Certain objects may have their own sub-lists as well, so if you're looking for a certain way an object is displayed, be sure to check them as well.

Extracting objectsEdit

To extract object:

  1. Find the object that you want to extract.
  2. Tick a "V" on its.
  3. In the "Manage" menu, press the "Extract objects" button.

It will extract it to a folder that is represent the exporting date. You can move it for an easier access.

You can change the extraction configuration by pressing the label that says "Extract objects", rather than the button itself, and tehn select "Configure extraction". Then a list of resources would be shown at the top, and you can select what file formats to extract objects to from each one.

Viewing scriptsEdit

You can view scripts of files as well. It can be handy if you are looking for certain values in files, or trying to figure out how files interact with each other.

Comparison to SwfModifyEdit

Trillix allows viewing more source types, and also allows exporting them and viewing scripts. It also viewing scripts. However, unlike the Trillix demo, SwfModify also allows editing and replacing files. You can combine these 2 behaviors for creating new files and editing them again, if needed.

The demo version has these 3 main restrictions:

  • Scripts cannot be copied. However, they can be extracted.
  • Only 2 objects can be extracted from the same source category at once.
  • Changes cannot be saved.
